Labadee (also Labadie) is a port located on the northern coast of Haiti. It is a private resort leased to Royal Caribbean International until 2050.[citation needed] Royal Caribbean International has contributed the largest proportion of tourist revenue to Haiti since 1986, employing 300 locals, allowing another 200 to sell their wares on the premises for a fee, and paying the Haitian government US$6 per tourist.

The resort is completely tourist-oriented, and is guarded by a private security force. The site is fenced off from the surrounding area, and passengers are not allowed to leave the property. Food available to tourists is brought from the cruise ships. A controlled group of Haitian merchants are given sole rights to sell their merchandise and establish their businesses in the resort. Although sometimes described as an island in advertisements, it is actually a peninsula contiguous with the island of Hispaniola. The cruise ship moors to the pier at Labadee capable of servicing the Oasis class ships, which was completed in late 2009.

Attractions include a Haitian flea market, beaches, watersports, a water-oriented playground, a roller-coaster-type ride, and a zip-line.

Jamaica Reggae Boyz U14 Out As Haiti Set To Retain Title ? || Caribbean U14 Tournament

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (August 11, 2022)—Twenty-two Caribbean Football Union (CFU) teams will go on the hunt for top honors when the 2022 edition of the CFU Boys’ U-14 Challenge Series kicks off this Saturday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The developmental tournament—the introduction to international competition for the contenders—will run from August 13 until August 21, spanning 49 matches across four venues, with the teams divided into two tiers.

The groups are, in Tier I:

Group 1A: Bonaire; Curacao; Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico;

Group 1B: Aruba; Haiti; and St. Kitts and Nevis

Tier II:

Group 1: Barbados; Dominica; French Guiana; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; and Bermuda

Group 2: Cayman Islands; Grenada; Martinique; St. Lucia; and St. Martin

Group 3: Anguilla; British Virgin Islands; St. Maarten; Turks and Caicos Islands; US Virgin Islands

The Tier I group phase will give way to cross-group quarterfinals. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals with the winners playing for the championship.

The Tier II group phase leads to cross-group semifinals and the last two playing for the championship.

Defending Tier I champions Haiti defeated Puerto Rico 4-1 to win the 2020 edition delayed by the pandemic to 2021. Bonaire, this year promoted to the top flight, defeated Aruba 3-1 to win Tier II.
