Cap Haïtien is a relatively safe destination and is actually even more safe than Port-au-Prince. You'll still want to take a few precautions however. Don't flaunt any belongings that could be seen as valuable, don't leave valuables unattended, and make sure to use hand sanitizer frequently.

We airlifted 24 doctors from Cap-Haitian to Port-de-Paix as part of the post-earthquake relief effort. The airport is just around this mountain. BEAUTIFUL country!

In this video my friend James and I fly over to Cap Haitian from Port au Prince. It’s a 30 minute plane ride and 8 hours by car so even though I’m terrified of small planes I chose to fly. The plan was to do 2 days in Okap but the first day we had hotel issues and spend the entire day trying to find a new one so unfortunately we missed beach day!
