Bernard Fils-Aimé, who helped launch Haiti’s 1st cell network, dies of COVID-19 at 67 | Sunday TODAY

Bernard Fils-Aimé fled Haiti with his mother in 1966 and later became an activist, creating the Haitian Refugee Center, which offers legal services and support to migrants arriving in South Florida. Fils-Aimé moved back to Haiti in 1995 to launch the county’s first cellular network. He died this month at age 67 of the coronavirus. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well-lived.
