The Haitian Revolution Part 1

The #Haitian #Revolution was the largest and most #successful slave #rebellion in the #Western Hemisphere. #Enslaved #Africans started the rebellion in 1791 and by 1804 they had #succeeded in #ending #slavery and #French control over the #colony. The Haitian Revolution was part of several revolutions going on simultaneously like the #FrenchRevolution of 1789, which would usher in new concepts of #humanrights, universal #citizenship, and participation in #government.
