Afro Haitian Dance At FAU University

Konbit Kreyol Haitian Organization was created in 1990 to educate the students of Florida Atlantic University about the Haitian Culture. Since it's creation, Konbit Kreyol has made a huge impact on the Boca Raton Campus of FAU.

On 11/17/21 Imamou Lele was invited to Queensborough Community College to facilitate a workshop for QCC Dance Department educator Kevin McEwen’s students. Alexandra Jean-Joseph led with basic movements of the traditional Haitian dance styles of Yanvalou, dance of supplication, Nago, dance of war, and Ibo, the dance of liberation. Sky Menesky, along with Michael Adams and Atibon demonstrated traditional percussion rhythms and taught the students a traditional Ibo Song.
