@bev_flowers and @mr_angola brought together pieces from their individual culture dances, Kompa from Haiti, and Kizomba and Semba from Angola to bring forth freestyle performance at the Regal Ball, a fundraising Ball @dedukeosy.

Haitian Dance with Tracy Pierre and Friends

On 11/17/21 Imamou Lele was invited to Queensborough Community College to facilitate a workshop for QCC Dance Department educator Kevin McEwen’s students. Alexandra Jean-Joseph led with basic movements of the traditional Haitian dance styles of Yanvalou, dance of supplication, Nago, dance of war, and Ibo, the dance of liberation. Sky Menesky, along with Michael Adams and Atibon demonstrated traditional percussion rhythms and taught the students a traditional Ibo Song.
